How would you feel about a new and free Quilt Along? That would be so much fun, right?
I already told you in last week’s post, but I’m so happy to be part of this that I want to introduce you again to the brand new Sewcialites Quilt Along hosted by Fat Quarter Shop. We are going to have so much fun in the next 9 months until way into the Summer of 2021!! We are going to quilt online with people from all over the world.
You probably know how a quilt along works or have read about it in last week’s blog post, but for the newbies around there, let me explain one more time.
The Sewcialites Quilt Along will have 36 blocks designed by 18 talented designers. And I’m happy to say, I’m one of them. Yay!
Every Friday, there will be a new blog post here on the blog to present to you the newest FREE quilting block, which is designed by one of the 18 designers. In addition, Fat Quarter Shop is showing a live demo of each individual block on its YouTube channel, where you can join in sewing in real time. They are going live on Fridays, 9:00 AM CDT.
You can make your blocks in 3”, 6”, or 9” sizes, ending up with a respectively 27.5”, 54.5”, or 81.5” square sampler quilt. Of course, you choose your fabrics and the downloadable instructions will give you all details for the three different block sizes.
By following along and quilting with us, you end up with a great sampler quilt, some awesome inspiration, and maybe even new friends. Friends you can find in the Facebook group that is specially set up for the Sewcialites Quilt Along, the Sewcialites Lounge.
And also on Instagram, you can quilt along. Every month great companies like Moda and Creative Grids give away prizes when you share your progress using the hashtag #SewcialitesQAL. Isn’t that awesome?!

Let’s take a look at this week’s block, shall we? This block is made for you by Lisa Bongean. She called it Loyal. It’s an awesome block to have in a sampler quilt. It’s not quite like anything else we are used to seeing from Lisa. You know, Lisa likes to play with a lot of smaller pieces in her block, so this is certainly a different side of her.
