A Plus Pillow featuring Quotation
Need some inspiration? I’ve got you covered.
The other day I was sitting in my living room, I looked around and thought to myself, my couch has the same old pillows for ages now. Maybe I need to revamp it. Do something about the look and the feel of my living room.
Does that happen to you? All of a sudden you feel like you are looking at the same “old” stuff forever already. I think it has something to do with the fact that we love to decorate (and redecorate) our living spaces. Especially now that we are spending more and more time at home, right?
But then that restless feeling of what to actually make comes creeping in. Do I just make new covers for the pillows I already have? Shall I add more pillows for a cozier look? We still wanna be able to sit down on our couch, right?!
It’s all a matter of inspiration. When I need some new ideas for a next project I hop on over to Pinterest. I love to browse the quilting and sewing pins and just collecting anything that looks like something I would wanna make.
Pinterest is also great for sewing and quilting tutorials. If you want to see what I pin and collect, you are welcome to visit me on Pinterest and look through my boards (and maybe even follow me there).
So if you need some inspiration for a new pillow on your couch, I have a great one to show you. My friend and helper Sandra Schnathorst made it using 16 plus blocks. The blocks are 4” x 4”, it’s 4 rows with 4 blocks in a row which makes a 16” square pillow.
Sandra used the Quotation fabric line and I have to say, she did an amazing job. I love how the plusses pop off the pillow like that. For those plusses, Sandra used a Charm Pack of the Quotation line, and the background is made from an assortment of low-volume prints.
Never made a plus block before? Or maybe you want to have more choices before committing to a plus block pillow. Martingale is working on a new book with all kinds of pillows and a plus block pillow is one of them, highlighted in the book. A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but if I would need to guess, I think it will be for sale in Summer 2021.
In the meantime, you can dream about a revamped couch already and start planning with some new fabrics. Because we all know, planning is half the fun, right?
