Fabric requirements
Now let’s talk fabric: Choosing the right fabric is like picking the right wine – it sets the tone. So, whether you're a lover of bold and bright or soft and subtle, we've got tips that'll have your quilt looking sewphisticated.
Take advantage of precuts and use Charm Packs or Jelly Roll strips. Or select a beautiful assortment of yardage sections. Of course, you could also finally empty your scrap box, why not? Let’s have a look at what we are working with for our demo
Required Materials for Dots on Point Quilt
Fabric as as seen in the chart
Monofilament clear thread
Essential quilting tools (rotary cutter, cutting mat, ruler, fabric scissors, just your basics)
optional: circle cutter, rotating cutting mat and slot ruler
Can I Use Precuts with this Pattern?
Oh yes, indeed, this is even a wonderful advantage as it saves you a lot of cutting time.
3 charm packs are ideal, you can also take
a Layer Cake, quarter it, use what you need for the dots and then have left over fabric pieces that you can use on the back. The same applies to
a Jelly Roll: you can choose your 30 favorite strips from it and use the leftovers on the back. If you want to work with
Fat Quarters, just pick out 8 beautiful fabrics and you have the starting material for the Dots.
