Sewcialites Block 12 - FAITHFUL by Camille Roskelley
A “Faithful” block with a symmetrical look
Remember a couple of weeks ago we had Bonnie Olaveson as our host? This week her daughter is hosting the party. Camille Roskelley is the other half of this mother-daughter power-duo who is making beautiful fabrics, patterns, and quilts together.
Camille made her first quilt at the age of 14, something that was inevitable with a quilting mom, right? But it started to become real love after the birth of her second son. She started her business Thimble Blossoms in 2007 and hasn’t had one single regret. Camille is a busy mom, working on her quilts “between soccer games and track meets” as she puts it so vividly herself.
The block Camille designed for the Sewcialites Quilt Along is called Faithful. It’s a nice block with a symmetrical look. Perfect for our sampler quilt, don’t you think?
Talking about sampler quilts, in the Sewcialites Lounge, our special Facebook group, fellow quilters are showing their blocks and even a peek at their sampler quilt layouts. It’s so much fun to see how different fabrics can make different blocks with the same pattern. From sunny to Fall-ish, and from graphic to flowery. It’s a feast for the eye for sure.
On Instagram, quilters are also sharing their work. They use the special hashtag #sewcialitesQAL to connect with other quilters, but they are also in the drawing of fantastic prizes. Fat Quarter Shop has teamed up with different companies for a giveaway each month!
It’s always nice to know who you’re up against right? I reckon a lot of quilters that tune in every Friday at 9 am CDT on YouTube to quilt together with Kimberly, also enter the giveaways. So why not join Kimberly at Fat Quarter Shop’s YouTube channel and meet your competitive quilting friends. You can ask questions about anything and quilt along in real-time.
Happy quilting!
