Free Pattern - Purl Soho Drawstring Bag with Spotted New Colors and More Paper!
Spotted New Colors offers so much fun potential!
SPOTTED NEW COLORS recently hit stores, and this already versatile basic fabric collection is proving to have endless possibilities when it comes to unique, creative projects. After the release of SPOTTED in 2018 and the amazing response we had to it, we just knew we had to bring even more to this fabric line with the addition of new colors and hues!
As we’ve recently seen with this beautiful mini quilt project, also using a free pattern from Purl Soho, combining the new additions to the fun, bold colors of the SPOTTED fabric collection with the MORE PAPER fabric line is proving to be amazing!
The pastels as well as gray and beige neutrals we’ve added to SPOTTED offer a perfect compliment to other fabric collections and provide an excellent foundation for some really great patterns.
The engaging textures of SPOTTED create a dynamic stand-in for solids in any pattern, offering more depth and intriguing design.
SPOTTED NEW COLORS 2019 brings this versatile, lively collection full-circle and offers outstanding fabrics for combining with a variety of prints and styles, from basic to modern. These fabrics also do wonderfully on their own in a variety of projects as you can see with our new patterns Basic Flip It and Basic Log Cabin.
Let your creativity run wild with Spotted New Colors and More Paper and these fun drawstring bags!
Once again we’ve made the most of a free pattern from Purl Soho to create these sweet bags. They offer such a great place for easy-to-follow and simple tutorials we just couldn’t help it!

How did we do it?
For the Zen Chic version of these drawstring bags we used a mixture of fresh colors from the SPOTTED series and added different low volumes from the MORE PAPER fabric collection. The strings for the bags are also made from the SPOTTED fabrics, and we added a mix-and-match dynamic with a bit of color contrast to each bag.
These gorgeous bags were sewn for us by Antje Schmiedecke…
