Are you ready for winter?

You know what's coming: your whole house will be closed up, and the only light will be from the glow of your laptop. Sure, you could make it a little more cozy with some candles or a fire, but why not take it one step further?

Introducing the Winter Quilt Wall Hanger. This striking wall hanger makes a beautiful eye-catcher over your mantel or as a table topper. And best of all? It's made out of fat eights! You can use your favorite fabrics and the foundation paper piecing technique for precision piecing.

Winter Star is a captivating wall quilt that would do wonderfully as a beautiful eye-catcher over a mantel during Christmas time. The design appears as if the beams from the star are slightly curved, but in fact, they are straight lines that flow so smoothly they seem curved. This pattern uses the Foundation Paper Piecing Technique, and the resulting visual effect is all at once striking and dazzling.

I originally created this pattern with the Spotted fabrics as a type of advent calendar. We picked 24 fat eighths, and every day the participants got a fat eighth in their box. At the end of the process, you had all the materials needed to create the quilt.

Winter Star became so popular that I brought it back and reprinted it with another fabric line, Chill. So, why not be inspired by this beautiful pattern’s original intention and create a very unique, thoughtful, and fun gift for your favorite quilter? You can choose 24 fat eighths as called for in the pattern’s materials list and give it to a sewist friend as an advent calendar gift. They certainly won’t have seen anything like it!
