Unboxed - Dance in Paris
Have you been introduced properly to my new collection Dance in Paris? It has been a long time coming. But finally, it’s here! And I hope you are as excited as I am.
The inspiration for this new collection comes from the vibrant city Paris. When I think of Paris I think of fashion and femininity. The colors of the fabrics ooze that same feminine vibe. Having spent a day in Paris, what better way to end it with a Dance in Paris?
The patterns in the fabrics are elegant and chic, however, also playful and bold. Perfect for beautiful quilts and other smaller projects.
On this blog, you can find a lot of those smaller projects for free. They showcase how my fabrics can be used other than quilts in different sizes. The best way to keep up with all the projects, and other news for that matter, is to subscribe to my newsletter.
Would you like to get creative with our new fabrics right away? We have the perfect projects for you!
This week we started the second round of our very first Quilt Along in honor of the new Dance in Paris collection. We will be quilting together over a period of 7 weeks. The featured pattern for this QAL is called Spring in Paris. If you want to participate, there is still enough time to join in the fun! Just sign up for the QAL newsletter. This way you will receive exclusive materials such as video tutorials, bonus sizes, and organizational helpers, which are not available through our regular blog posts.
The basic used in the Spring in Paris pattern is:
Bella Solid White Bleached 9900 98
The finished size of the quilt is 59” x 60”. But we also prepared templates and cutting instructions for a Queen and Baby size version of this quilt. You will receive them as a bonus after subscribing to our Spring in Paris QAL newsletter.
Besides the Spring in Paris pattern, I want to show you the Diamonds & Grey pattern. It has a somewhat geometric feel. Because of the graphite background and the white sashing, the diamonds truly pop, and it gives it a chic and modern look.
Basics used in the Diamonds & Grey pattern:
Spotted Cloud – 1660-140M (white sashing)
Spotted Charcoal – 1660-160M (background and binding)
The finished size of the quilt is 63” x 63”.
Another fun pattern is Pure. I made this pattern with the reflection of the spring sun to the water of a calm river in mind. You know, when the water is just gently waving? The sun is giving it all kinds of beautiful colors? That was the inspiration to Pure.
Basics used in the Pure pattern:
Spotted Pond - 1660-150M
The finished quilt size is 81” x 81”.
As I said before, I hope you are as excited as I am about the Dance in Paris collection. It was such a pleasure creating it and seeing it come to life. The next step is to make some beautiful projects with all the different fabrics. Let’s start together, join the Spring in Paris Quilt Along!
Warmly,
Brigitte
Joining hexagons can be a daunting and time-consuming task. Knowing how to do this properly using your sewing machine is a great skill to have under your belt. Watch the video tutorial by All People Quilt featuring the Day in Paris fabric collection.
