You know I like to browse the world wide web for some fun and quick fabric projects, right? I have found one that will help you keep your sewing table neat and you can even use these in other places in your home.
It’s getting messy
Now, when I sew, I have stuff everywhere. You know, we need our fabrics, scissors, needles, wonder clips and so much more. It can become quite a mess when we work our wonders, right?
That’s when we need something to keep our stuff together, something fun yet beautiful, and of course, something that has our items easily accessible.
Fabric trays are what we need!
Fabric trays are the answer! You can make a whole set in a couple of hours. There are different sizes. The bigger ones can be used for some Fat Quarters, while the smaller ones can hold our sewing notions and safety pins for example.
But a fabric tray is perfect to hold your coffee mug and a cookie as well. Or some grapes to nibble on while sewing or reading your favorite new quilting book.
Our trio in Zen Chic fabrics
My friend, Antje Smiedecke sewed our trio using the More Background Even More Paper fabrics for the inside. For the outside, she used the Grunge fabric collection and picked some wonderful colors, in a yellow, blue, and green tint. It suits the Even More Paper fabrics beautifully.
The tutorial I found was from See Kate Sew. Kate’s blog post has great instructions with photos to explain every step. She also has made a template for you to download and instructions on how to make every size you want.
Not only for the sewing room
That makes it easy to use these fabric trays for every room where you need some organization. I’m thinking about keeping your fruit together or making them to hold your jewelry or make-up. And even make one for your keys in the hallway. We have little items everywhere in our home and these are perfect for keeping them together.
Great gifts
Sew a few fabric trays, they are fabulous gifts for young and old. Your kids or grandkids can use them for smaller toys, like a garage for toy cars or a bed for their dolls. And teens can use them for their earbuds and phone charger.
