Sweet, Cute and Fun With Just Red
In the last several blog posts we’ve seen some of the wonderful diversity that the JUST RED fabric collection has to offer. With its deep dive into a beautifully versatile color, this fabric series can easily range from dramatic to playful by simply arranging its colors and patterns in a myriad of possibilities.
Everything from this unique feather block, this charming mug rug, these lovely placemats, this incredibly useful sewing mat, to this eye-catching pillow… JUST RED brings a captivating effect to any project!
And these adorable penguins are no exception. This cute project, perfect for little ones, babies on the way, or grandchildren, offers a fun opportunity to choose different fabric combinations to create a unique result each time. Your penguins can look different every time you sew them with a simple shift in color and pattern combinations, even down to their funny little feet and beaks.
These delightful penguins were sewn by Ulrike Brauns…

And, if you’ve been sewing along with us, we’d love to see your blocks in our thriving Facebook community or on Instagram using the hashtags #modablockheads and #modablockheads3. Stop by and share your blocks with us – it’s a big part of the fun!
You can also take a look at Blockheads 2, our last Moda Blockheads adventure. It was a great time with lots of new friendships and a wonderful community, and we’re thrilled that this year’s Blockheads has been just as amazing so far.
This week we get to see a block from Moda designer Janet Clare, Hampshire Star. My interpretation of this block turned out to look more like a flower, which is part of what I like about it. Depending on where you place which fabric, this versatile block can look different each time you sew it!
