Charming, simple and fun
What would life be without those small treasures and nick nacks we all love so dearly? And what about those small notions that are best kept within arm’s reach instead of hidden away in a drawer somewhere? We all have collections of “little things” that we like to have around us, and how very fun to have a clever and creative way to keep them in one place. It’s not considered clutter if it’s displayed in an eye-catching, fabulous way, right?
These charming little pixie cups are such a unique way to store all kinds of things – pencils, sewing items, thread spools, sweets, cosmetics… You name it! They are so very easy to make with just a handful of scraps, and their leather handles give them a stylish look. These cups are a fantastic way to decorate your office, sewing room or really anywhere in your home that you’d love to see an eye-catching accent. They also make a thoughtful gift for a friend!
In one afternoon you can easily put together a few of these adorable pixie cups. And, because they’re so easy and quick to sew you can change course and create new ones with your favorite fabrics.
We used fabrics from the JUST RED collection. With its beautiful colors and playful patterns, don’t these pixie cups look so fresh and joyful?
These sweet pixie cups were sewn by Amaya Gutiérrez…

SUMMER BREEZE
It’s so fun to show up each week for Blockheads 2020! Every week there’s something new and creative to see, and I love sharing these unique block designs from Moda designers.
If you’re just joining us, we highlight a free block pattern each week as part of our year-long sew-along. You can go back through the last several blog posts to catch up and join in the fun any time. Be sure to check out this post to find out what fabrics you’ll need to create your own unique sampler quilt using free block patterns from Moda designers each week.
If you’ve been sewing along with us, we’d love to see your blocks in our thriving Facebook community or on Instagram using the hashtags #modablockheads and #modablockheads3. Joining in this community and sharing your blocks is such a big part of the fun!
You can also take a look at Blockheads 2, our last Moda Blockheads adventure. It was a great time with lots of new friendships and a wonderful community, and so far this year’s Blockheads has been a smashing hit too.
