A new quilting book on the horizon
We have talked about quilting books before in earlier posts here on the website. And it’s time to highlight another book. One in a series that is dear to my heart, because I have been contributing to it plus all the royalties from the sale of this book go to charity! In this case, Operation Gratitude. Let’s take a closer look, shall we?
A new book in the All-Stars series
Martingale, a publishing company for quilting and sewing books and run by its employees, has released another book in the Moda All-Stars series. This book is all about comfy cushions and fun pillows.
It has 17 beautiful quilted pillows for your couch, your bed, and your favorite chair. Or even just to showcase on your dresser.
My contribution to this book…
… is the Plus pillow. It measures 12” x 24” and I used my Quotation fabrics together with the More Paper collection. You can find the instructions on how to make this fun Plus pillow in the book.
All the Moda designers were asked a few questions all around pillows.
To give you a sneak peek, here are the questions and my answers.
Q: My favorite size pillow to make is...
A: 20" x 20" (although the one I made for this book is 12” x 24”)
Q: I get my pillow inserts at...
A: mostly at IKEA
Q: After the pillow in Soft Spot, my favorite pillow to make is...
A: Sorry, is this a serious question to a quilter? Who has possibly made a zillion pillows and is proud of nearly everyone 🤣(except maybe those which had a learning lesson inside)
Q: How many pillows is too many?
A: Ok, let me think for a minute - I'd say 2768 if this is ok with you (except when you are the owner of a hotel chain).
Q: I might have...
A: ...about 30 to 40 in the complete house
Last week’s winner…
We had a giveaway last week for the pattern of the PHD bag plus 2 fabric quotes. And our winner is Andrea Kriech. Congratulations, we’ll be in touch for your information.
A fun giveaway, a free book!
Which of the pillows would you like to make? There is a lot to choose from, so I hope you get to pick one. If you have picked your favorite, tell us in the comments. I will draw a winner at random who gets a copy of the ebook.
Of course, you can always buy the book. Remember you are contributing to Operation Gratitude with your purchase. A win-win if you ask me!
