The Purl Soho Mini Quilt Free Pattern — and the Dynamic Duo of Breeze and Chambray from Moda!
The BREEZE fabric collection has come floating into stores with its flowing, soft hues and eye-catching, sashiko denim-inspired patterns. What better fabric to combine it with to create this stunning little mini quilt than with these intriguing denim fabrics from Moda – the Chambray collection.
I gave a fabric assortment to my Brownie Ulrike to make this quilt – a mix of BREEZE and these wonderful denim fabrics from Moda… The result is simply beautiful, don’t you think?
The Chambray fabrics from Moda are the same weight as quilting fabrics and of a similar, high quality feel. They come in four color variations, from light to dark and bring a wonderfully complete and cool look to this mini quilt.

Ready to make your own mini quilt?
You can find the tutorial here! Have some fun with this dynamic pattern and use your imagination when it comes to combining colors and fabric designs. I find that the way that Ulrike combined these fabrics brings a beautiful balance and harmony to this project, while also drawing the eye to the flow of the various fabric patterns.
As you can see, Ulrike also created a unique and intriguing back to this quilt by bringing the fabrics together in a different manner than the front – and you can too!
How about you?… Have you ever tried mixing denims with quilting fabrics?
