FREE QUILT ALONG BLOCKHEADS 2018
BLOCK 29
COURTHOUSE STEP
Last week we presented Block 28 of our Moda Blockheads 2018 (Round 2) project. This week we work on a Courthouse Step block hosted by Carrie Nelson and it’s one of t.h.e classic blocks. Something every beginner does in their first sampler quilt. Obviously it is a variation of a Log Cabin block. Just straight pieces to join - no bias: pure and simple. But there are a myriad of quilt patterns on Log Cabin blocks and Courthouse Step blocks to find.
Ours here is just a three round thing. It will depend on the fabric style you choose or on the placing of the fabric, if it turns out as a traditional or a modern one. I kept mine quite minimalist. You know, a sampler quilt needs some places to let the eye rest for a while. So just three simple rounds of the same fabric. Done!
Don’t miss to see Carrie’s, who works with such a gorgeous fabric assortment of Jen Kingwell Scraps and some of my Modern Background Paper fabrics.
