New colors for Spotted means more versatility… and lots of possibilities!

New Spotted Colors have just hit stores - time for some fun sewing! The first edition of SPOTTED in 2018 was already so popular, that it required a certain increase: the addition of new colors and hues, the SPOTTED NEW COLORS fabric line expands an already versatile collection of basic fabrics from lovely to unbeatable…

The new colors added to Zen Chic’s Spotted fabric line add even more versatility to this basic collection.

To compliment the bright, vivid colors of the original SPOTTED fabric collection we’ve incorporated more muted hues including pastels and a number of gray and beige neutrals, which work well even in more traditional quilt patterns.

The texture of these fabrics is very versatile. They often take the place of a solid in a pattern, but their spots and speckles of varied lighter and darker hues give them a richer depth than a true solid.

The addition of the new 2019 colors fills out the SPOTTED line beautifully. They make great combining fabrics and can be paired with a variety of styles and prints, from traditional to modern. They also have enough depth and color to stand on their own as you can see in our new patterns, Basic Flip It and Basic Log Cabin.

Take Spotted’s new colors for a spin with a fun zippered pouch!

To make this pouch Brigitte used just one single Mini Charm Pack of SPOTTED NEW COLORS. The pouch shows off the new color story very nicely!

Next, she made 42 half-square triangles, trimmed them to 1 1/2" and arranged them in 6 rows with 7 units (see the picture below). The final size of this pouch is 9" x 10 1/2".

A single Mini Charm Pack of Spotted New Colors by Zen Chic is all it takes to make a lovely zippered pouch!

You can follow any simple tutorial for making a zippered pouch (there are so many available on Pinterest!). Spice it up with a nice fancy zipper, and voila! You’re all done and you have a truly unique, colorful creation.
