Quilters, it's time to set the stage for our beautiful dots! Welcome to Week 3 of our Dots on Point Quilt Sew Along.
Imagine this: each dot begins as a harmonious pairing of fabrics, pieced together with your sewing machine. Depending on your starting material, you might be creating patches
or piecing entire strip sets. Once you've mastered that and prepped your first dots, you'll find it becomes almost a meditative process, a perfect time for your thoughts to roam free while you unwind. The final step for this week is to add the fusible web, prepping our dots for easy ironing in the future.
Your Assignment for Week 3: Prepare for your Dots
Here's your mission for the week:
Hey there, quilt-lovers! Are you ready for Week 3 of our Dots on Point Quilt Sew Along? Let's dive right in! First on the agenda, we're going to pair up our fabric to give life to the Dots. If you have long strips, no worries, you can simply sew them together and then divide them up. Using Fat Quarter, Yardage, or Charm Packs? Just stitch your rectangle pairs together. Trust me, picking out new combinations is a blast!
Next, we're getting friendly with the fusible web. If you're rocking the strip sets like me, just cut long strips of your fusible web ready for action. Got smaller square units or pairs? No problem, just iron on matching pieces of your fusible web. For all the nitty-gritty details like precise measurements, just refer to your pattern.
So, who's ready to create some Dot magic? Let's get those sewing machines humming!
But don't forget, there's a new chance to win each week.
So keep those entries coming For week 3: share a photo of your preparation for the dots using #DotsOnPointQAL.
