BLOCK 16
TEXAS PUZZLE
Last week we had already two new blocks, Block 14, Fidget Spinner by Lynne Hagmeier and Block 15, Corner Pocket by Barbara Groves of Me and My Sister . This week we will have even three blocks for our Moda Blockheads 2018 (Round 2) project. But no worries, next week we will slow down a bit in our pace.
So for this week the first block is hosted by Carrie Nelson, the social media genius of Moda. BTW her fabric choices are a.m.a.z.i.n.g ! An assortment of Jen Kingwell prints combined with Low Volumes from my Paper collection. You should absolutely visit her blog posts to enjoy them all.

I kept this 6" block very calm, only white, greys and a hint of pale pink.

BLOCK 17
BIG STORM
The next one, also a 6" block, is called BIG STORM and hosted here on my blog. It is a very simple and modern look and I kept mine calm and simple in color. The sewing instructions say: cut 8 rectangles, each 4 1/2" x 2". But I cut mine slightly larger, so I was able to trim it to an exact rectangle shape later. I'd recommend to start with 4 3/4" x 2 1/4" or even 5" x 2 1/2" fabric pieces. Sew them together in the instructed manner. Then mark the midpoint on that diagonal seam and use it and your 45° angle of the ruler as your reference and guide to cut out 4 exact rectangle shapes, 4 1/2" x 2". I gave mine even a hint of starch before trimming and they turned out very accurate.

MISHMASH
MISHMASH is hosted by Vanessa Goertzen of Lella Boutique. It's again a 6" Block, a kind of windmill with an extra stripe in it.
