Using a selective color scheme for
the X & Plus quilt pattern
To complete the range of patterns for my upcoming fabric line DAY IN PARIS arriving in stores by April 2019 I'm introducing today the X & + quilt pattern.
With its 83" x 83" it covers a queen size bed well, and you can always add a wider border to make it fit your bed size. I picked only the greens, greys and whites of the collection and based on the size of Fat Quarters.
The basic block of X & Plus is easy to piece. What makes the quilt special and a bit whimsical is the fact, that you deliberately incorporate some "mistakes" here and there. Doesn't mean sewing mistakes (although that can happen too, but is for sure not meant deliberately). More in a sense of fabric placement, so that the block is not totally symmetrical, see the detail picture below.
When it came to quilting I thought a not too tight geometrical pantograph might fit great.

BLOCK 41
BELLA SPINNERS
Last week we presented Block 40 from our Moda Blockheads 2018 (Round 2) sew along project. This week we work on Block 41, Bella Spinners, hosted by Barb und Mary of Me and My Sister Designs.
This is one of the blocks, which has a non-square format:
6" x 12", pretty easy to piece. Don't miss to check out the Blockhead blocks of Barb and Mary, which they sew in their typical bright and happy color story.
