The Devon Pouch featuring the Even More Paper Collection
Sometimes when I come across a beautiful pattern, I just can’t resist it. Especially when I have new fabric to play with. I start to imagine what the end result looks like and how I can use it.
The same was true for this lovely Devon pouch from Svetlana Sotak. Her business Sotak Handmade has a lot of gorgeous patterns in her Etsy shop where you can find the pattern for this pouch.
We have made another pouch from Sotak Handmade before that featured the Dance in Paris collection. And you can also find a beautiful bag made with Quotation fabrics on the blog for which we used a pattern from Sotak Handmade .
But this time it was the Modern Background Even More Paper collection that was used to make two Devon Pouches.
We only used one print from the Even More Paper collection, the Stamps White to be precise. It’s a fun fabric that has a little bit of texture to make it interesting but doesn’t take away from the pouch.
One pouch is entirely made from the Stamps White fabric, while the other Devon Pouch is made of a sturdy gray linen in combination with the Even More Paper fabric decorating the little pocket on the front.
The lovely Yvonne Aumann made these pouches for me and she used a nice little embellishment on one, a leather label with a star from Stoff & Stil that gives the pouch that extra touch. Both of the pouches have metal zippers to give them a bit of an industrial-style look.
Do you want to make this Devon pouch as well? Svetlana has made a video to show you how to do it.
Zen Chic 2022 Bauhaus Quilt Along - week 2
We are in the second week of our Bauhaus Quilt Along. So far we have looked at the different sizes you can make, like the regular quilt size, a lap size quilt, and the pillow.
Furthermore, we talked about the fabrics that you can use. Will it be fabrics from your stash? Maybe you still have that one Fat Eighth Bundle waiting for the perfect project. Or will it be the new Even More Paper collection? I’m curious what your fabric choice is.
The Bauhaus QAL on Instagram
It is so much fun seeing all the photos shared on Instagram from the quilters who are participating. They use the hashtag #bauhausqal. Let’s take a look at some of the photos
People are sharing which fabrics they are going to use, what size they are going to make, and just overall sharing that they are participating in the Quilt Along.
Week 2 - Cutting our fabrics
This week it’s time to take out our scissors or rotary cutters. We are going to cut our fabrics! But before we do that, we need to prepare our fabrics. In the special video the participants can watch, I’m telling them all about how to do this, so they can be sure when they cut their fabrics, their quilt is going to be perfect when it’s done.
Prizes to Win!
When you share your progress as a participant on Instagram using the hashtag, you are in for the draw of an awesome prize by one of our sponsors. Who doesn’t want to win some quilting goodies?
Last week, we had one quilter who won a $100 gift certificate from Fat Quarter Shop. Congratulations to the winner!
This week we found Martingale being so generous to give away a $30 gift certificate. I bet our winner can find an interesting book to put on their shelf. And all our participants have to do is share their progress. Easy, right?
