A “Cheerful” weekend is about to happen!
Welcome back to the Sewcialites Quilt Along! We have a lovely block for you, which is, again, totally free to download. And that’s not all, today is also the start of an amazing Sales Weekend here at Zen Chic. So let’s look at all those goodies, shall we?
Let’s start with the Sewcialites block. Responsible for this week’s block are two ladies, Barb and Mary from Me & My Sister Designs. This power couple started their journey in the 90s already. It’s a bit of a funny story. They attended a quilting class and before their quilt even had the binding on, they had opened a quilting shop. How is that for going for it, right?!
Their sweet customers taught them everything about quilting and they were hooked for life. Years later they sold the shop and now they design fabric lines with fun names like Tiddle Dee Dee and Badda Bing. No wonder Fat Quarter Shop asked them to join in the fun for this Quilt Along.
The block they designed is called Cheer. A block with a name that suits them perfectly.
On another cheerful note, are you ready for a huge sale this weekend?
Starting today through Sunday all of Zen Chic’s patterns will be for sale at hugely discounted prices. Get up to 35% off!! You can stock up on all the patterns you were having your eye on. No need to hold back. Shop now and your wallet will thank you!!
For a quick overview of the latest patterns, keep on reading. But remember, you can mix and match any patterns from the shop.
Prism
First, we have Prism. This is a quilting pattern for the intermediate quilter. it is composed of blocks that are made with the FPP technique. A Layer Cake would be a great choice for this quilt.
Play a Card
This quilt, Play a Card is perfect for the beginner quilter. Using two Charm Packs and plain background fabric is all you need to make this quilt. Plus you can make all kinds of sizes.
Zen Cabin
A Jelly Roll is a perfect choice for this fun pattern, Zen Cabin. It goes without saying that you need some background fabric here as well. Start from the outside and work your way to the middle. That way you get the most out of your fabric.
Cross it
In this fun pattern, you could see a forest with some trees that are falling or maybe that game Mikado, remember that one? Anyway, you could use a Jelly Roll or even a Honey Bun for it. Perfect because it saves you time cutting your strips. We rather start with our blocks that needing to cut a lot of strips first, am I right?
You can get all 4 of these patterns at a combined price of $31.07, saving you a whopping $16.73!
Other combinations are possible of course. Take a look in the shop and use these codes at checkout to save you money:

Can you believe the Sewcialites Quilt Along is almost over? I almost say, because even though the free blocks are all shared in the quilting community, we still have a quilt to make. In this blog post I am giving some tips on how to put together the final layout I created and what materials you will need for it. And last but not least, let's take a look at what the other quilters made of this beautiful sampler quilt!
