This week, we will present the final block in the Sewcialites Quilt Along. It seems we have reached the finish line quickly and without even noticing it. Or is that just me?
I guess it all has to do with the fact that we’re so wrapped up with our own Quilt Along these days. We’re in the middle of sewing the Spring in Paris quilt, so if you want to jump into another fun QAL after the Sewcialites one, you are more than welcome. Find everything Spring in Paris QAL-related on the special page here on the website. It is never too late to join.
OK, back to the last block in the Sewcialites QAL. This block is by Corey Yoder of Coriander Quilts. It has such an appropriate name being the last one: Kindness.
I feel that every quilter and designer that contributed to Sewcialites has been so kind by donating a piece of their creativity. I love that the participants have kindly accepted this amazing gift of 36 free blocks to make a beautiful quilt.
We are all blessed to have been able to practice more techniques and add to our sewing and quilting skills. That’s what this QAL was all about. I want to thank my fellow designers for all they gave with their hearts full of love for the quilting community. I’m glad to be a part of it.
For one last time, I ask you to share your block with the rest of us. Whether it be on Facebook in the Sewcialites Lounge, or on Instagram using the hashtag #sewcialitesqal. Remember, you can win an amazing price generously given away by one of the sponsors, once more.
And for one last time, Kimberly is going to be Live on Fat Quarter Shop’s YouTube channel. She’s going to show us and quilt with us this last block. So if you have any questions about this last block, on Friday at 9 am CDT is the time to join the Live.
If you’re wondering what’s next and how to finish the sampler quilt you’ve been working on for the last months, you want to keep an eye on Fat Quarter Shop’s blog. In the next weeks, they will post more information. The Jolly Jabber, FQS’s blog, will have 2 posts on finishing and backing of the sampler quilt.
Of course, here at Zen Chic, we will also provide you with some info on how to finish your quilt. Keep an eye out because next week Friday, I’m gonna share the assembling of the Zen Chic layout idea including the materials list.
I hope you’ll stick around for some more quilting projects here on our blog. And possibly, I’ll get to welcome you to our own Spring in Paris Quilt Along.
Welcome back!
Don't miss the other designers involved in this project:
Can you believe the Sewcialites Quilt Along is almost over? I almost say, because even though the free blocks are all shared in the quilting community, we still have a quilt to make. In this blog post I am giving some tips on how to put together the final layout I created and what materials you will need for it. And last but not least, let's take a look at what the other quilters made of this beautiful sampler quilt!
