These last weeks we have been busy together with sewing an amazing quilt top by following along in the Spring in Paris Quilt Along. It was our first one and although it was a ton of work, we had an awesome time together.
I thought it would be nice to review and look back at some gorgeous quilts. Wanna join me down memory lane?
The Dance in Paris fabric collection
This QAL was all about celebrating the new Dance in Paris collection. Unfortunately, the fabrics were long overdue but that didn’t stop us from going ahead with the Quilt Along. We stretched the beginning of the QAL in the hope that pre-ordered fabrics were delivered to our participants. Sadly that didn’t happen.
However other collections were used and our participants even went through their stash to pull great combinations with fabrics that had the desired gradation from light to dark. In the end, this negative turned out a positive for our fabric stashes and creative minds.
For those of you who waited patiently…
Only now that our first Quilt Along has been completed do the Dance in Paris fabrics arrive in stores and at our quilters. Many who have been waiting for their materials up to now were rightly disappointed that they could not take part in this QAL as they had imagined.
But we don't want anyone to be left disappointed. And that's why we have exciting news for everyone who has been waiting for the Dance in Paris fabrics up to now:
We are going to start the Spring in Paris QAL all over again. The second round starts on July 7th!
You will once again receive all newsletters, as well as the chance to win new prizes in our weekly giveaway. Through the newsletters especially made for the QAL, I share all of my tips and tricks, including video tutorials, and 2 extra sizes (for a baby quilt and a Queen size quilt). Also, a handy coloring sheet to plan your fabric gradation and we announced the winners of the prizes sponsored by some amazing companies.
Our Facebook group will remain open so that the participants of the first and second round have a place to hang out with quilting friends and fellow Spring in Paris makers. We are with more than 1,000 quilters. And they love to chat and share mostly on Fridays. Challenges were shared and I even posted some additional tutorials to clear up some of these issues. People showed each other their progress and the atmosphere was all positive and amazing.

#springinparisqal
This was the hashtag quilters used on Instagram and it will be our hashtag for the second round as well. It is a delight to browse through all the posts. It warms my heart to see the engagement over there. From closeups of the quilting and perfectly fussy-cut hexagons to cats that wouldn’t go out of the way (!), you shared your progress with the rest of us.
Prizes from our sponsors
With that hashtag, our participants could also win some amazing prizes worth more than $1000. Our sponsors were Moda Fabrics, Aurifil, Dinkydoo, Fat Quarter Shop, The Quilt Kitchen, and Stitched in Color. Thanks to these generous companies and again congratulations to the winners of the prizes!
We still have 2 prizes to give away to 2 lucky winners. Next week we’ll let you know who were those fortunate ones.
Have you been introduced properly to my new collection DANCE IN PARIS? It has been a long time coming. But finally, it’s here! The color pallet goes from light to dark featuring whites, pinks, greens, blues, and blacks. With a splash of gold in them. You can also check out my newest patterns specially designed for this collection. Leave me a comment! I would love to know what you think.
