This is the last week in our Quilt Along and we are going to finish with a bang! Before we are going to look into the last pieces of the Spring in Paris quilt, I want to take the opportunity to thank you all for participating in our very first Quilt Along.
The final steps
This week, we are going to finish our quilt top by attaching the negative space to the piece with our hexagon balls. You will need to cut it straight to have a clean line to join the 2 parts together.
When you have your quilt top done, it’s time to make a sandwich and quilt the 3 layers. You can do this at home, however, you’ll get a beautiful result by taking it to your favorite longarm quilting service. For all my quilts, Rachel Hauser from Stitched in Color is my go-to-lady. She made the Spring in Paris quilts for Quilt Along stunning as you can see up close in her blog post.

The last step in finishing your Spring in Paris quilt is adding the binding. You can choose to do this by hand or use your sewing machine. Once that is finished, you can enjoy your masterpiece. Congratulations, you’ve done it!!
Our community on Facebook
During this QAL we build an amazing community of enthusiastic quilters on Facebook. The pop-up group has been a real resource for getting your questions answered and wins celebrated. I hope you will post a photo of your finished quilt and show us how it turned out. And of course, you can still ask questions and help each other out during this last week.
Time to share!
I know you have been posting on Instagram using the hashtag #springinparisqal. It was a delight going through your photos and see all those quilts come to life. Here are a couple of them to give you an idea but, by all means, hop on over to Instagram and check out the #springinparisqal hashtag for yourself.
Our winner of the week
Of course, we have a winner this week as well. You could enter to win a gift certificate of $100 sponsored by Fat Quater Shop. And Linda Beymer is the lucky one that is walking away with those $100!
2 Chances to win this week
For this final week, we have 2 amazing prizes for 2 winners:
a gift certificate of $50 from The Quilt Kitchen
and a $75 longarm service coupon by Stitched in Color
Whoop whoop!!
All participants of the QAL are eligible for the prize. All they need to do is post your progress in our Facebook group or on Instagram using the hashtag #springinparisqal. The deadline to enter the draw is Tue, June 29.
