Do you quilt with heart and “soul”?
Have you been quilting with us for the past weeks in Fat Quarter Shop’s Quilt Along? If so and you haven’t been posting and showing us your blocks, don’t be shy and share your work in the Facebook group, the Sewcialites Lounge. And if you have been a regular Lounger, keep at it, my friend!
If you’re learning about this Quilt Along just now, don’t worry, there is still plenty of time to catch up and join in the fun. Wanna read a little bit about it first? Go check out this post to get all the deeds before you jump in.
It’s time to look at the block for this week. This block, number 8, is designed by Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree & Co. She called this block Soulful.
Now if you follow along with our posts here on the Zen Chic blog, you’ve read about Joanna recently. That’s because she’s a designer for Moda and the Moda Blockheads as well.
The name of her company has everything to do with her husband, a hard-working addition to her business. Since his last name is Figueroa, his classmates always called him Fig. Their kids got the sweet nickname the Figlets. And so from all of that Fig Tree & Co. was born.
Now isn’t that a sweet story? Do you know what’s also sweet? If you join in the fun of quilting with us and post about it on Instagram you could win some awesome prizes!
Fat Quarter Shop has found 6 quilting companies willing to giveaway amazing products each month. All you have to do is use the hashtag #SewcialitesQAL. It doesn’t get any easier!
Oh and don’t forget to watch the Livestream on YouTube from FQS this week. Every Friday at 9 am CDT, Kimberly goes live to show us how to make this week’s block.
Happy quilting!
Don't miss the other designers involved in this project:
Can you believe the Sewcialites Quilt Along is almost over? I almost say, because even though the free blocks are all shared in the quilting community, we still have a quilt to make. In this blog post I am giving some tips on how to put together the final layout I created and what materials you will need for it. And last but not least, let's take a look at what the other quilters made of this beautiful sampler quilt!
