Pamela Goecke Dinndorf has done it again. She has a brand new book out for all her quilting fans around the globe. After Parallel Lines Pamela has written her third book called “Alchemy, Transforming Scraps into Precious Materials”.
Pamela is comparing quilting to alchemy where we as quilters take all kinds of fabric scraps and put them together to something wonderful and even magical as alchemists did in the old days.
In the book, she is teaching us through her patterns, how to create stunning three-dimensional effects by also picking the right fabrics. This creates some kind of movement and her quilts give that warm and fuzzy feeling a quilt is bringing you. There is a lot of depth in her patterns and color choices, making her quilts a feast for the eye.
“Alchemy, Transforming Scraps into Precious Materials” includes 12 projects, you can sink your teeth in. From a table runner to a Boro cushion, Pamela’s version of the Log Cabin, Nine Patch and so much more. It’s a fantastic book to gift yourself or a quilting friend.
We here at Zen Chic are lucky to be able to give away 5 books, kindly sponsored by Quiltmania. For your chance to win let us know in the comments which is your favorite project of the book.

FREE QUILT ALONG BLOCKHEADS 2020
BLOCK #42
STARDUST
Let’s move on to Moda Blockheads. We have another stunning block for you by Joanna Figueroa. She called her block Stardust.
Being artsy has always been in Joanna’s blood. From a young age, she has experimented with drawings, cards, jewelry, pottery and so much more. It was only when she discovered fabric and quilting that something clicked and she felt she had found her true love on a creative level.
When Joanna started as a quilt- and sewing teacher at her local shop she also began designing patterns. And the rest, as they say, is history.
