Welcome to another week in the Fat Quarter Quilt Along, Sewcialites. Are you ready for a new block that will possibly challenge you a bit?
This week our host for Sewcialites is Sherri McConnell from A Quilting Life. Sherri is sewing since she is 10 years old. She is a grandmother now, which means she is sewing for a long time already. Her grandmother gave her a “gentle push”, as she says herself, to start quilting. We can all be grateful for her grandmother because Sherri is making fantastic quilts ever since. The block she made for us this week is called Wisdom.
I made this block in blue and white from my fabric collections Spotted and More Paper. I love how the blue pops and almost pushed the block forward.
When you want or need some more inspiration, go watch Kimberly from Fat Quarter Shop making this block on the Livestream of her YouTube channel. She is live every Friday at 9 am CDT. Or you could pop in the Facebook group the Sewciliates Lounge to look at all the magnificent blocks your fellow quilters are making. Give them some love and share your own progress. I bet you get a lot of likes and comments on your blocks as well! Wanna quilt and win some prices at the same time? Go post your block on your Instagram page with the hashtag #SewcialitesQAL. You could be the winner of this week’s goodie from one of the contributing companies.
Good luck, fingers crossed, and happy quilting!

Can you believe the Sewcialites Quilt Along is almost over? I almost say, because even though the free blocks are all shared in the quilting community, we still have a quilt to make. In this blog post I am giving some tips on how to put together the final layout I created and what materials you will need for it. And last but not least, let's take a look at what the other quilters made of this beautiful sampler quilt!
