Why not get cozy with a new pillow and some “Wine”
Do you have a couch full of pillows? I love a nice pillow. And to match your interior, what better way to make it yourself, right? It’s more fun and probably quicker as well.
That’s why I searched the internet and found a perfect pillow for you to make to have on your couch. Or in your favorite chair, on your bed, or wherever you want to add some pizzazz in your home.
This pattern by Heidi from Fabric Mutt is one of a kind. In her tutorial, she shows how to put together a block, how to put together the pillow, plus a few extra projects you can make with a cross-stitch quilt block.
Our pillow here is excellently made by my quilting friend and helper Oggi Charisis (you can find her on IG by @ogginelle). I especially love how much thoughtfulness she put into all the details. Look at her quilting and also at the hand-embroidered running stitch around the edge of the pillow. Phenomenal, right?
The fabric used for the binding, the red and white stripes with the inspiring text, is also a cute accent on this pillow. Didn’t she just do an amazing job here?
Speaking of fabric, I think you could go with a charm pack of the Quotation line and you would add some low volumes. I guess that would work perfectly for the blocks. Of course, you can have blocks on both sides or you can choose for a solid back of the pillow as Heidi did.
I would love to see how your pillow turned out. If you post a picture on Instagram, please tag me with @zenchicmoda, so I can give you a thumbs up.
FREE QUILT ALONG BLOCKHEADS 2020
BLOCK #55
WINE NOT
We are almost at the end of this fun Moda Blockheads Quilt Along. Only 2 blocks left. It’s sad and exciting at the same time because next week when we present the last block we’re also giving you all the instructions on how to put your sampler quilt together. So be on the lookout for that, ok?
This week we have Jen Kingwell from JenKingwellDesign.com. She made a block called Wine Not. What is Jen trying to tell us with this one? I think we need to hop on over to her blog and find out.
A little bit about Jen. She lives on the Surf Coast in Victoria, Australia. When you visit her shop you can make a whole day of it and you don’t even need to bring lunch. In her shop Amitie Textiles, they serve made in-house food and locally roasted coffee in their cafe. I would love to visit someday once the pandemic is behind us and the store is open again. Luckily for us, we can always visit online.
Speaking of luck, do you feel lucky today? Moda is going to give away another Layer Cake. This week it will be Jen’s Layer Cake of her fabric line Winkipop. Go to the Moda Facebook group, answer Jen’s question and you’re in the draw.
Happy quilting my friend!
