What would we do without “Friendship”…
IDo you have a lot of friends? Or maybe not a whole lot but at least a few good ones with whom you can share your life and life challenges. Maybe you even have a circle of quilting friends. These days, with the pandemic still going on we can use a few good friends, right?
And that’s why these Quilt Alongs are so important. The community we have on Facebook, the Sewcialites Lounge is filled with like-minded people. We all enjoy fiddling around with fabrics and making beautiful patterns with all kinds of blocks.
The block for this week is a perfect addition to the sampler quilt we are making here. You know why? Well, this block is called Friendship. So appropriate, right?
The Friendship block is made for us by the designer of the week, Carrie Nelson. Maybe you’ve seen her name before on the Moda website, where she writes posts. Or you have her on your bookshelf. Cause Carrie has written a few quilting books which you can find at Fat Quarter Shop.
And you know what else Fat Quarter Shop has? A life-stream every Friday on their YouTube channel. A perfect place to meet up with your quilting friends and make that block together. Remember to tune in at 9 am CDT and you can ask questions, chat, and see the progress Kimberly makes with this block. Fun, right?
When you finished the block share it with us in the Sewcialites Lounge on Facebook. Or use the hashtag #SewcialitesQAL on Instagram. If you do so, keep your fingers crossed, because you might win a nice prize. Each month Fat Quarter Shop is giving away a prize sponsored by companies like Creative Grids and Moda, just to name a few.
I hope you have a lot of fun, making this Friendship block. Happy quilting!

Can you believe the Sewcialites Quilt Along is almost over? I almost say, because even though the free blocks are all shared in the quilting community, we still have a quilt to make. In this blog post I am giving some tips on how to put together the final layout I created and what materials you will need for it. And last but not least, let's take a look at what the other quilters made of this beautiful sampler quilt!
