We can all use some “Peace” and quiet sometimes
When you hear the word Peace, what comes to mind? What does that mean to you? Maybe you’re sitting by the fireplace and do some hand quilting? Or after a Winter storm, the weather settles down and everything becomes quiet again. Such a lovely feeling, right?
The block for this week in the Sewcialites Quilt Along is called Peace. It is designed by Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs.
Anne is a true applique fan and lover of all things vintage. Her style is a mix of cottage with a little bit of simple shabby chic. Vintage items, fabrics, and patterns often have that vibe of peacefulness don’t you agree? A block that breaths Anne’s style perfectly.
And a little peace and tranquility is something every quilt needs. It needs to be a perfect combination of all blocks used. So this Peace block from Anne fits in wonderfully and you don’t wanna miss it in your own sampler quilt.
Something you don’t wanna miss either is the cozy time that is going on in the Livestreams on YouTube from Fat Quarter Shop every Friday morning. At 9 am CDT Kimberly is the host of this 1,5 to 2 hours long quilting gathering. You can join in the fun and quilt together with her to make this week’s block.
Finished your block? Show it to us all in the Sewcialites Lounge on Facebook. We are an engaging community with more than 8000 members. You can talk about all things quilting, find the files to all the blocks, and ask a question when you get stuck in there.
If you’re on Instagram and show your blocks there, remember to add the hashtag #SewcialitesQAL. Every month Fat Quarter Shop is giving away some awesome prizes. So be sure you enter by using that special hashtag, ok?
Now I know you are eager to start with this block of the week. So get to it and show us how it turned out.
Happy quilting!

Can you believe the Sewcialites Quilt Along is almost over? I almost say, because even though the free blocks are all shared in the quilting community, we still have a quilt to make. In this blog post I am giving some tips on how to put together the final layout I created and what materials you will need for it. And last but not least, let's take a look at what the other quilters made of this beautiful sampler quilt!
