How something small can become so grand...
You probably know the feeling of excitement when a new fabric line is hitting the stores. Especially from certain designers that have the most beautiful fabrics and whom somehow you always end up buying from.
You always order their Layer Cakes, Jelly Rolls, or Fat Quarter Bundles, right? And it can take a while before you have the perfect pattern to put those gorgeous fabrics to good use.
I know exactly what you mean. You need to come across the perfect pattern for that Charm Pack that is waiting to be turned into the quilt that will spruce up your living room or bedroom.
And you don’t always want to re-make a quilt that you already made before. You want to look for something new, a different pattern. Something modern, crisp, a delight in your home. Whether you use it on your table, hang it as a piece of art on your wall, or you have it on your lap as a little blanket on those colder days.
Well, I’ve got just that for you today. Dig up that Charm Pack and let’s put it to work. I found this beautiful, and fun pattern a while ago and I want to show you the versatility of it. Christina Cameli is the designer and she is sharing it for free. The Splashdown Quilt measures 40” x 40”, perfect for a Charm Pack.
One of my friends and helpers, Yvonne Aumann, made this lovely quilt and she used Zen Chic’s newest fabric collection Quotation. Yvonne did an excellent job and the quilt turned out beautifully, don’t you agree?
It is a modern-looking quilt with that splash of color that is typical for the Quotation line. I love how she used the inspiring text fabric in red and white for the binding. It gives it a frame around the quilt. Beautiful!
I bet you are inspired by now to look for that one Charm Pack in your fabric stash that is perfect for this quilt. And maybe even that feeling of excitement is bubbling to the surface again. The same feeling you got when you bought your Charm Pack.
And if you wanna make the same quilt as Christina did and use the Quotation fabrics, I understand completely. You go buy that Quotation Charm pack, I won’t tell…
Happy quilting!
