“Graciously” Dizzy
Another week and another block in Fat Quarter Shop’s Quilt Along, Sewcialites. Are you ready?
We’re getting closer and closer to the Holiday season. The weeks go by so fast, sometimes it’s all making me a bit dizzy. And I had that same feeling for a moment when I first saw this week’s block for our Quilt Along. It reminded me of that wheel that goes round and round on those Carnaval fairs, you know what I mean? The one that gets you all hypnotized?
Well, this block, luckily isn’t a round one. The square is giving it some kind of flair I guess. Some kind of grace. And maybe that’s why the designer, Vanessa Christenson called the block Gracious Block.
When you see Vanessa’s quilts, you instantly see that she loves color. Her quilts are bright and they make you all happy inside. Vanessa’s patterns range from quilts to bags and zipper pouches. She even has a strawberry shortcake that you can sew. I guess you can say that Vanessa from V. and Co is one versatile lady!
I’m curious about all the blocks that will be sewn using the Gracious Block pattern. It’s always a feast to check them out in the Sewcialites Lounge on Facebook. Do you also share your blocks in this special Facebook group? You can get a lot of inspiration and support from all these quilting friends that join us every week. I hope you get to join as well.
You rather post on Instagram? Not to worry, Sewcialites Quilt Along is there too. There is this special hashtag that you can use when you post your blocks and when you do you can win some amazing prices. So don’t forget to use #SewcialitesQAL next time you post.
Don’t wanna quilt alone? Why not tune in on the Friday Lives from Fat Quarter Shop on YouTube? From 9 am CDT, Kimberly is quilting along for a few hours on FQS’s channel and answering questions should you have one.
For now, I’m graciously going to say goodbye. Happy quilting and until the next block.
Don't miss the other designers involved in this project:
Can you believe the Sewcialites Quilt Along is almost over? I almost say, because even though the free blocks are all shared in the quilting community, we still have a quilt to make. In this blog post I am giving some tips on how to put together the final layout I created and what materials you will need for it. And last but not least, let's take a look at what the other quilters made of this beautiful sampler quilt!
