It’s week 5 of Zen Chic’s first Quilt Along. The special QAL to celebrate the new fabric collection Dance in Paris.
The preparations
In the last weeks, we have been busy with the preparations for the Spring in Paris quilt. We chose our fabrics, some of you are using the new collection Dance in Paris, others are using different fabrics or fabrics from your stash. This Spring in Paris pattern has 3 different sizes to choose from, so that was another decision you had to take.
Practicing making hexagon balls
After we had our fabric, knew what size we wanted to make, and cut our triangles, we started piecing the triangles and joining the first rows to make the hexagon balls. We really practiced making those rows and we have the first 3 rows with hexagon balls done. This week it’s time for the next 2 rows.
We’re on Instagram
But first, let’s take a look at some photos our participants posted on Instagram using the hashtag #springinparisqal.
We have a winner!
These quilters were in the draw for an amazing prize this week. All they had to do was post their photo in our Facebook group or on IG with that special hashtag. You see, every week a great company is giving away a product to one lucky winner that is quilting with us in this Quilt Along. This week it’s Dinkydoo fabrics and they sponsored a §100 gift certificate for our lucky winner Mariann Monyok.
Next week, it could be you. Do you wanna win a Layer Cake of the new collection Dance in Paris generously sponsored by Moda Fabrics? Join the QAL and share your progress with all of us on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #springinparisqal. And keep your fingers crossed. You have until Tue, June 8th to post your photo.
